Time’s A Tickin’

I thought I’d share one of my living room displays today. I love arranging and rearranging and rearranging and rearranging. My husband and I are avid collectors of almost anything vintage and well of course, anything really really neat. Here are a couple of our collections on display.

 

My hubby has been collecting cameras since he was a little boy, his mother had several antiques stores, so that really helped his collection along. The pocket watch collection is a recent gift from my father in law. The vintage scale was my very first auction purchase years ago and I still love it!

 

 

I think the trick, for me at least, to a successful display is grouping like objects (collections) and varying size,texture and height in the arrangement.  Here the diversity of the glass domes covering the pocket watches and leather of the cameras look good together. Another compliment to the vignette is the approximate age similarity of the items. Most of all if I had to share a tip it would be don’t take it to seriously through in a few fun items.
