5 Pounds of Fudge

{Written by: The Mrs.}

Ok I’ll admit I love this; who wouldn’t? It’s fudge for goodness sake! And yes, I suppose if you ate it all you could gain 5 lbs but a few pieces can’t hurt and your family will love it too.  It will become a new family favorite.

My Mother-In-Law gave me this recipe years ago and it truly has become a holiday tradition.
So here we go….
Ingredients:
  • 4  1/2 cups of sugar
  • 13 oz can of evaporated milk
  • 2 sticks margarine
  • 2 cups marshmallows
  • 2 cups chopped walnuts
  • 18 oz semi sweet chocolate pieces
  1. In a pan cook and stir together sugar, evaporated milk and margarine.
  2. Bring it to a rolling boil then turn the heat down to medium and set timer for 11 minutes.
  3. Cook and stir constantly for 11 minutes.
  4. Remove from heat and add marshmallows and chocolate, Beat with electric mixer until smooth and creamy. Add walnuts.
  5. Pour fudge into very well greased 9×13 pan.
  6. Cool completely, then refrigerate over night.
  7. Cut into cubes and watch it disappear.
Hope this comes a great new tradition for your family!
