Nursery Cloud Art

This past weekend I decided to tackle some wall art for my daughters’ room. I started with a small 8 1/2 x 11″ canvas. I painted it with 4 coats of light gray acrylic paint letting it dry between each coat. While waiting for it to dry I lightly sketched the outline of a cloud on a piece of handmade white scrapbook paper (found at our local craft store). I cut out the cloud along with several raindrop shapes.

I really wanted the texture of the paper to be visible so I dipped my finger in water and ran it along the surface of the paper and lightly scrapped as I went to “fluff” it up. Once everything was dry I used an extra strength glue stick and glued it all together. Quick, easy, and pretty cute.
