Felt Owl Mobile

{Written by: Jen}

The Easter Bunny (The Mrs.) brought Taylor and Molly this amazing owl mobile that she made in place of Easter Baskets this year.

Supplies:

  • Felt
  • Buttons
  • Hot Glue
  • Metal Hoops (The Mr. welded the ones used in this project from supplies he had on hand in his garage)
  • Embroidery Floss
  • Sewing Thread

As I am writing this after the fact, and since I was not the one who made it I don’t have step by step instructions to share. However, I can give you a basic rundown of how it was made.

Susi drew up a basic outline of the the shape of the owl’s body she wanted to use and created a template on card stock. She used this for each of the owls she made. Each one is unique and has slightly different features; from different facial expressions to different feather adornments. She also made a dozen or so felt roses by cutting circles of felt into a spiral and rolling it onto itself and hot glueing in place.

Small eyehooks were sewn onto the owls and strung to the metal hoops using embroidery thread. The roses were attached with hot glue.

We love felt, and owls. Owls are awesome. Are you an owl lover too? Do you have any accessorizing your house or wardrobe?
